What is DNS and when is it worth changing
Understand DNS, the internet's 'address book', and when changing it can help.
DNS turns names like bunnytest.com into numeric addresses computers understand. It's like your phone's contacts: you look up the name and it dials the number.
Does it make the internet faster?
It doesn't increase download speed. A slow DNS only delays the start of loading websites. If pages take a while to 'start', changing it may help.
How to change it
In the network settings of your router or device. Well-known public providers offer free DNS; choose one with a good privacy policy.
