Why is my internet slow?
A practical checklist to find where the slowness is: device, Wi-Fi, router or provider.
Slowness almost always has one of four sources. Rule them out one by one.
1. The device
Test on another phone or computer. If only one is slow, the problem is that device: too many tabs, low memory, power-saving mode or an old Wi-Fi card.
2. The Wi-Fi
Test next to the router and then in the room where you usually use it. If the difference is big, the signal isn't reaching well. See how to improve your Wi-Fi.
3. The router
Restarting fixes more than you'd think. Very old routers also can't keep up with fast plans.
4. The provider
If even on a cable, next to the router, speed stays far below your plan at several times of day, record the results and contact your provider.
