How many Mbps do I need for Netflix 4K?
Recommended speed for HD and 4K streaming, per screen, and how to calculate for the whole house.
Netflix recommends about 15 Mbps per screen for 4K and 5 Mbps for HD. Other services have similar numbers.
Add up the screens
Two TVs in 4K at the same time need ~30 Mbps just for them. Add phones, calls and other devices and leave headroom.
Stability counts
Streaming adapts: if the connection fluctuates, quality drops automatically. A stable 50 Mbps connection is better than an unstable 200.
